Botox

Botox injections are an extremely popular treatment for anyone who is looking to reduce the appearance of wrinkles or fine lines.  The treatment consists of small amounts of high quality toxins being injected into the skin, blocking the nerve signals to the muscles around the injection site. This inhibits muscle movement which causes existing wrinkles to relax and soften and in some cases, completely disappear.

Results vary, but usually last for up to 4 months.

Fillers

Lip fillers are an increasingly popular treatment for enhancing your natural lips, improving their shape and adding volume. They can also give the lips a more youthful appearance, increase definition and even balance out uneven lips.

There are many types of dermal lip fillers that can be injected into the lips. The most common fillers and the ones we use at House of Brows, are hyaluronic acid based fillers. Hyaluronic acid is a substance naturally occurring in the body and gives our skin its elasticity and plumpness.

Treatment process

Numbing cream will be applied to your lips prior to the treatment to minimize any discomfort.  Small, controlled doses of temporary filler will then be injected under the surface of the skin, filling in any sunken areas and lines.  This will give a smoother, more youthful and rejuvenated appearance to the lips.

The effects of the lip filler typically lasts around six months. After this more injections are needed to maintain the enhanced appearance of the lips.

How much lip filler do I need?

The right amount of filler required to achieve a natural-looking, full set of lips differs from person to person.  It depends on your age, the size of your lips to begin with, the amount of looseness or deflation that has taken place and the result you wish to achieve.

Hyaluronic acid fillers generally come in 1 millilitre vials or syringes. Many people are surprised to hear that a millilitre of filler is in fact less than a teaspoon (see picture below).  The correct amount of filler to achieve a client’s goal will be fully discussed during the initial consultation. Generally speaking, lip filler is introduced over several appointments in order to achieve the desired result.

Facial dermal fillers are used to plump areas of the face, enhance contours and soften facial creases. Dermal fillers provide facial rejuvenation and replenish volume lost from the face as we age and due to lifestyle and sun damage.

At House of Brows, we only use facial fillers made from hyaluronic acid which is a substance naturally occurring in the body and is typically re-absorbed over the course of a year.

Facial fillers can give a softer, more youthful appearance to the face and are most commonly used for:

Lines from nose to mouth (nasal-labial lines);

  1. Lines from mouth to chin (marionette lines);
  2. Cheek enhancement;
  3. To add definition to chins and jawlines;
  4. Non-surgical Rhinoplasty (nose);
  5. Reduction of tear trough.
